Best Places to Eat on the Island (Siesta Key) 

Sometimes finding good food in a tourist town is hard but we do have a few gems. I am a fan of family owned restaurants with a local feel. I hope you enjoy my suggestions! 

Cottage- You can enjoy your lunch or dinner on the front deck or back patio. I would describe the food as creative seafood with an Asian flare.

My favorite favorite item on the menu: Superfood Salad & Sweet Plantaines 

The Hub- Pan-Latin fare & margaritas are the draws at this festive, tropical-themed eatery with live music. A great place to people watch as the sitting area is located on the main street where everyone walks. They offer live music day and night. “Fiesta Hour” runs Monday - Friday 11:00am to 6:00pm and features, $7.50 House Margaritas, $4 House Wines, $3 Well Drinks, $2 Domestic Drafts & One Great Time!

My favorite favorite item on the menu: Jumbo Burrito with blk chicken. I also enjoy the skinny margarita's w/ salt with an app Hub Dip Sampler while listening to love music. 

Sun Garden- You came here for the great weather and tropical feel. You can sit outside on the patio where you instantly get the feel your in paradise. The food is fresh and healthy and the staff is super friendly. 

My favorite favorite item on the menu:  Bikini Bagel w/ fresh grapefruit juice

Anna's Deli- Casual sandwich shop that has been serving Siesta Key for years. Located south end of Siesta Key. My favorite sandwich is the SouthSider on marble bread with the special Anna's sauce.

PI Pizza: Looking something quick and laid back. PI has pizza pies, craft beers, spirits & live music in a strip-mall storefront.

Best Places off the Island (Family Owned Establishments) 

Walt's Fish Market:  If your looking for a true Florida restaurant this is the right place for you. You can sit outside at the Tiki bar listen to music or you can sit inside. While you wait for your food you can check out what the fresh fish in the case. Sometimes you can see the fisherman pull in and unload their catch.  They have also  added a gift shop Walt's Outpost that carries some truly unique gifts! They don't take reservations so during season this place is packed. I love sitting outside at the bar. 

My favorite favorite item on the menu: Conch Ceviche, Walt's Steamer, and anytime of BLK fish everything is so fresh.  The Linda's margarita is yummy too! 

Marcellos: A tiny Italian restaurant.  The owner cooks in an area in the dining room so you can see what he is cooking. They have the specials on the chalkboard. I always order what the chefs choice on the chalkboard.  I would make reservations as this is a very small eatery. 

My favorite favorite item on the menu: The table side Caesar salad is a must. I usually order the special or veal. 

Simon's Coffee House: If you enjoy fresh ingredients with a fun menu try Simons. They are open for breakfast and lunch. This is a feel good healthy eatery.

My favorite favorite item on the menu: I usually have a fresh juiced drink and look to the special chalkboard. I love the homemade balsamic salad dressing. 

Favorite Downtown Sarasota Places to Eat

Indigenous Innovative, carefully sourced American cuisine served in a warm, sophisticated restored home. This is special occasion type of eatery. You need to make reservations. 

Boca : Cool atmosphere has a California vibe. I like sitting at the bar enjoying a cocktail and ordering a few appetizers.  The food is good the service is ok but still worth trying it. 

My favorite favorite item on the menu:  I don't have favorite as I try something new each time.

State Street: Popular, rustic-chic venue for craft cocktails, sandwiches & new American entrees. One of the best bars if you like the experience of a REAL crafter cocktail

Social Eatery & Bar: Love the VIBE and feel.  

My favorite favorite item on the menu: I usually order a hand crafted cocktail and pizza. 

Best Places To Eat on St. Armands

Colombia: Traditional Spanish restaurant, a branch of a long-standing local chain dating back to 1905. A great place to sit outside and people watch. I always order the paella.

My favorite favorite item on the menu: I always order the paella and 1905 Salad. 

Shore: Oceanside diner with modern decor serving unique seafood dishes, burgers & salads plus cocktails.  The restaurant is on the second floor and open air themed atmosphere. On the first floor is a trendy Cali clothing store.

Best Place on Longboat Key

Euphemia Haye Restaurant: Very Pricy- special type of place

Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant:  fun place to sit outside old florida 

Grab a drink and Enjoy the View

The Westin: One of the best views of downtown Sarasota. The food is ok and the service is bad. It's still fun to get dressed up have a drink! 

Ritz Carlton:  The food is expensive but the atmosphere is beautiful.  Sit outside and enjoy the view. 

Old Salty Dog (New Pass) This  place makes you feels like your on vacation with the water view. Anything taste good fried right?

O' Leary's near Marina Jacks: If you like to look at all the beautiful yachts and enjoy a magical sunset this is a great place to grab a drink. So casual you feel like your in Key West.
