In-Shore Fishing

We work with only the most experienced in-shore captains that will happily guide you through the inland waters of Sarasota, Venice, and Bradenton. Sarasota has some of the best inshore spots in Florida. The captains will guide you through grass flats, mangroves, along shorelines and into many of Sarasota’s special secret spots. Have your camera ready, as these areas provide great backdrops for photo ops.  Listen closely to the soft pitter-pattering of baby blue crabs scurrying up the roots of the mangrove trees, and to the splashing plops of the infamous mullet playfully jumping all around you.  Curious anhingas, also known as water turkeys, have been known to stick their long necks above water right near the boat, just checking in to see what you crazy humans are up to. This is truly a more quiet and relaxing experience you are sure to enjoy, and let’s not forget that you are bound to catch some fish!

Although there is no guarantee of what you will catch, as you never know what Mother Nature has in store, here's what you could be casting for:

Redfish: Redfish also called Red drum, channel bass, spottail, red bass or reds, are one of Florida’s most popular sport fish and the state’s most widespread estuarine fish.

Snook: Snook are very popular with anglers due to their strong fighting spirit and mild, delicate flavor.

Trout: Trout are found inshore and nearshore in and around seagrass meadows, mangrove-fringed shorelines, deep holes and channels and above oyster bars.

Tarpon:Tarpon can reach sizes up to 8 feet and can weigh up to 280 pounds.

Grouper:  Beat Sarasota Black Grouper record of 124.18 lbs.

Sheepheads: Sheepshead are commonly found in brackish water river mouths, bays, estuaries and tidal creeks and especially near oyster bars, buoys, channel markers, piers and bridge piles where food is plentiful.

Cobia: Cobia is a favorite sport fish for many shoreline and off-shore anglers because it is one of the few species that are found throughout Florida’s marine environment.
